About Centreville
Centreville, Virginia is on the Western edge of Fairfax County, within 20 miles of Washington, D.C. Our community continues to grow rapidly, and as a result, it can be hard to keep track of all the new shops and restaurants that keep appearing. Having lived here for over 30 years, I have enjoyed watching the area change and grow, while some things have managed to stay the same.
While once a distant outpost for Union soldiers in the Civil War, today Centreville is home to approximately 75,000 people, with over 35% of the population being foreign-born. Like most of Northern Virginia, we have a diverse population, with an especially large Korean presence, which is quite evident as you drive through a few of our shopping centers.
