US News and World Report just released their annual rankings of the nation’s high schools. Fairfax County has always been lauded for our schools, though lately we seem to have a little less swagger in our step after the clumsy handling of the Covid-19 virtual learning and Thomas Jefferson’s admissions practices. Despite that, TJ ranked as the #1 high school in the country, and Centreville’s two main high schools, Centreville and Westfield also fared well.
I took a look at the list of Virginia high schools and scrolled down to find Centreville High School at #25 in the state (#12 in the county, #983 in the U.S.) and Westfield at #36 (#14 in the county, #1,664 in the U.S.). Mountain View was ranked further down the list and was #26 in the county (out of 30). CVHS gets bragging rights once again!
